Westbury Golf Club Seniors’ Captain’s Day

The Seniors’ Captain’s Day was held on the 6th September, with 48 members enjoying the good weather.

Seniors’ Captain, Rodney Poolman reports, “With a bacon roll on arrival, mid and after round drinks (courtesy of the Captain) and a barbecue to satisfy all appetites, it was a great day.The winner was Dave Pratt with 41 points, with George Henderson runner-up.There were supplementary fun competitions such as nearest the pin, longest drive and the best trilby (Billy Clarke).The Captain’s charity, the Epilepsy Society, benefited to the tune of £265.

“The Open Men’s September Medal was won by Dave Gilbert with a nett 65, beating Ryan Sims by 4 shots.This was Dave’s sixth win of the season, a remarkable achievement.

“We had a very enjoyable home match with Folke Golf Club which resulted in a 5-1 win for Westbury. The winning pairs were Dave Medley/Brian Ingram, Pete Mould/George Henderson, Dave Gilbert/Steve Turner, John Williams/Terry Turner and Dave Cameron/Rodney Poolman.”
