Teacher selected to be ambassador for online teachers’ club

A TEACHER from Westbury, has won a competition to become the new ambassador for the ‘Staedtler Teachers’ Club’ where she will be writing hints and tips to help other teachers in their classrooms.

Kelly Sattin, who teaches at The Minster School in Warminster, entered a national competition, hosted by the school stationery company Staedtler, to become the teachers’ ambassador for their ‘Staedtler Teachers’ Club’ and was selected by the judges out of all the entrants. The club currently has 15,000 primary school members from all areas of the UK.

To enter, Kelly had to send in a short video blog (vlog), telling them about herself, what she enjoyed about teaching and what she could bring to the role. The judges were highly impressed with her entry and chose her for the voluntary position.

The Staedtler Teachers’ Club is somewhere teachers can find curriculum-linked resources and share ideas. There are also fun articles for ‘break time reading’. Their Facebook page is a place where teachers can discuss current ideas, topics in the news and more. They also run competitions for teachers and children and help to celebrate teaching.

Kelly will be creating content for their club, writing blogs, sharing tips, making vlog and taking part in Facebook live events.

Kelly said, “I qualified as a teacher in July 2017, but before this, I was a teaching assistant for a number of years. I absolutely love what I do and throughly enjoy teaching.

“I was very surprised to be selected as the winner. I am very excited to be starting this role as it’s the first of its kind for the Staedtler Teachers’ Club.”

As well as winning the role, Kelly won the chance for Staedtler Teachers’ Club to become her school’s official sponsor, with more than £250 worth of stationery up for grabs, plus a top-up every term.

Natalie O’Rourke-Jones, marketing manager at Staedtler UK said, “Kelly’s passion for teaching is inspiring and we’re confident that our thousands of primary teachers across the UK will really relate to her.”
