THE play area at White Horse Country Park has been completely refurbished and is now open for use, after two employees built the new area themselves.
After a month of building the new wooden play frames, White Horse Country Park employees, Kev Mead and Nick Mitchard, celebrated at the launch to finally see their project being enjoyed by children.
The previous play equipment was rotting, but Kev and Nick took up the challenge to build a new place for the park’s young visitors.
Hannah Bowden of White Horse Country Park said, “The launch on Saturday 4th August went really well and it was great to see the children enjoying themselves and we had some great positive feedback from the parents.
“Parents were praising how safe the new area was as now the only access to it is through the club, so they felt safe to let their children go and play whilst they sat in the club and know that they couldn’t get out without them seeing.
“The park is free to use to those who are using the facilities here at the club and when the club is open and it is perfect to enjoy during the summer holidays.
”We also offer food from Wednesdays-Sundays from 12-3pm, with children’s meals available.”
