WESTBURY Golf Club Seniors section has reported a busy time.
Seniors Captain, Rodney Poolman says, “The Seniors’ Open Day proved a great success, with fine weather and in excess of 50 golfers taking part.
“The winner was Martin Easton, a member at Wedmore Golf Club, with a stableford score of 39 points. The best home player was Brian Ingram with 38 points.
“The Seniors’ July medal was won by Cliff Connor with a nett score of 62, followed by Geoff Kerbey with 66.
“Rob Rawlings won the club’s Committee Cup on countback from Ryan Sims, both with nett scores of 67.
“The club’s July medal provided Terry Turner with his first win on countback from Rob Rawlings, both with nett 65.
“We ran a new competition, a step aside texas scramble on the 18th July with 35 players taking part. After a very interesting and enjoyable morning the winners were Dave Cameron, Dave Medley, Barrie Jamieson and Terry Turner.
“The Senior Captains Charity, The Epilepsy Society, benefited to the tune of £40 making the yearly total a very acceptable £400.
“Our latest Seniors match was away against Minchinhampton where we came away with an honourable 3-3 draw. Our winning pairs were Dave Gilbert/Pete Mould and Steve Turner/George Brown.
“The President’s Bowl was won by John Salter with a score of 62 and the runner up was Keith Terry with 65. The Chairman’s Cup saw Ryan Sims come out on top with a nett 71 with Tim Rawlings filling the runner up spot.”
