AWARD-winning managers of Westbury Utd, Neil and Joe Kirkpatrick who were awarded the Toolstation Manager of the Season trophy last season, are looking ahead to this year’s pre-season friendlies, including a home game versus Swindon Town.
This season, which kicks off on Saturday 4th August, Westbury Utd will face teams in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division, after topping the First Division last season and being promoted.
However, managers Neil and Joe Kirkpatrick are determined to use the time to get the boys fitter and work them hard, ready for the new challenge.
Neil said, “It’s still early, as we have only had two sessions back, but the majority of the players from last season are staying with us, with a few more additions, so we will be looking to sort out the shape and get them fit. They are entering a harder league, so everything will be in preparation for August 4th.
“It’s great to have Swindon Town Academy come along for a pre-season friendly. The rest of the fixtures show a good mix of teams. Some games we will be under pressure, and others we should end up on top. Overall, we will be working the boys really hard to make sure they are ready for the upcoming season.”
Westbury United will play Swindon Town Academy at Meadow Lane on Saturday 14th July kick off at 12pm. Following that, they will play Wootton Basset at home on Tuesday 17th July, kick off 7.30pm, then Corsham Town away on Saturday 21st July kick off at 3pm, Bemerton Heath away on Tuesday 24th July kick off 7.30pm and Larkhall Athletic away on Saturday 28th July kick off at 3pm and finally Calne Town Away on Tuesday 31st July, kick off at 7.30pm.
