A MEETING to discuss community safety, hosted by the BA13+ Community Area Partnership, will be held on 17th May at the Laverton, Bratton Road, Westbury, commencing at 7pm (6.45pm arrival for refreshments) and everyone is welcome.
The group has held a series of popular public meetings, which have in the past year covered issues as diverse as the environment, health, transport, the arts and business.
Phil McMullen of the BA13+ Community Area Partnership said, “We are very privileged to be able to welcome as guest speaker Supt. Dave Minty who is head of force operations at Police HQ, London Road, Devizes.
“Supt. Minty is in charge of the 999 and 101 services for Wiltshire Police. He is responsible for the control centre, which was recently featured on TV’s 999: What’s Your Emergency? They process upwards of 300,000 calls a year there.
“If you have ever tried calling 101 and become frustrated by being stuck in a queue trying to report something, come along and hear what plans the police have for rectifying this.
“There’s no need to book a place, although we are always happy to hear from you so we can ensure there’s enough in the way of refreshments.
