THE Westbury Festival will be hosting a number of ‘pre-festival’ events in the build up to the two-week programme of music and arts in October.
The first event of the year is an art exhibition, with selected works from distinguished local artists. The show has been put together by Lesley Longworth with the help of Jane Russ from the festival committee.
“This exhibition will blow your socks off,” says Lesley. “The quality of the work from professional artists in the Westbury area is just outstanding.
“I think people will be really amazed that these fabulous pieces were done here in the heart of Wiltshire.”
The exhibition will be held in the main hall of The Laverton on Saturday 21st April from 10am until 4pm.
This event is also a forerunner to the ‘art trail,’ Westbury Open Studios, which is planned to take place in September. Running from Saturday 15th – Sunday 23rd September, the second week will overlap with the start of the Festival. Local people will be able to see the studios and workspaces where the art is created.
