College’s epic mountain climb

Fairfield College Mount Snowdon Students

Students and staff of Fairfield Farm College are preparing to take part in their biggest challenge yet, to walk to the summit of Mount Snowdon.

The group is taking on the challenge to raise funds for the college’s new indoor arena and have set themselves a target of raising £5,000.

Charity fundraising manager for the college, Debbie Hughes, said, “The students are passionate about being involved in fundraising for the new indoor arena project and are delighted to be able to support the college in this way.  This will really challenge both the students and the staff, some have never taken part in this type of activity before and will really need support, help and encouragement to achieve this goal. The participants will be training locally to help prepare for the fundraiser.

“We are looking for any local businesses who are interested in sponsoring our students with kit, walking boots and waterproofs for this challenge.  Please contact me on 07974 050984 or by email: debbie.hughes@ffc.ac.uk for further details.”

The students and staff will depart for their challenge next month, and will tackle the trek to the summit of Mount Snowdon, which is 1,085m high,  on  Thursday 10th May. To sponsor the students there are sponsorship forms at the farm shop and café at the college or donations can be made via www.             justgiving.com/fundraising/fairfield-farm-trust3
