IMPERIAL Charity in Westbury has now finalised the programme of subsidised coach trips for 2018.
The destinations have been chosen by a survey of passengers who took part in last year’s trips, who were asked to list the destinations they would like to visit this year. As a result, the following destinations were selected on the dates shown.
11th April Banbury, 9th May Swanage, 13th June Weston-Super-Mare, 11th July Bournemouth, 8th August Sidmouth, 12th September Minehead, 10th October Wells, Somerset. There will also be a possibility of another trip to a Christmas Market which will be confirmed nearer the time.
Each trip will be advertised in the White Horse News and the Warminster Journal some 2 – 3 weeks prior to each trip with the date and tickets will be available from the usual sources of Imperial Charity Shops in Westbury High Street and Warminster Road, together with The Warminster Hub.
A trustees meeting was held on 27th February where trustees very reluctantly agreed that the amount of donation asked for each ticket for these trips would have to be raised from £5 to £7.50.
The charity manager, Bob Summerfield, said that this increase was necessary in view of increased costs and to ensure the charity can continue to provide the three coaches for each trip. He emphasised that people with additional needs and their carers would continue to go free.
