New golf coach tees off at country park

ANEWgolf coach has started work at the White Horse Country Park and is hoping to get local people into the sport as the weather warms up.

Long-term professional golfer Rob Morris, who has coached in the area for years, will now be offering lessons on the course in Westbury.

Rob said, “I love the game and find teaching really rewarding; I especially enjoy helping regular players in the group sessions.

“I live in Westbury and have been teaching in the area for a long time now at clubs in Warminster and Cumberwell.

“I started playing golf when I was 14, turned pro in 1992 and have been teaching for years. I’m excited to be on board at the White Horse Country Club – it has a beautiful course and great facilities.

“Golf’s the sort of thing that really picks up around this time of year, and a much wider range of people are playing nowadays. It used to be quite exclusive but now there are many more women and children getting involved, which is great.”

Rob is in Westbury three to four days per week and runs group lessons, including women’s and children’s groups, for £5 per hour; and offers individual one-to-one sessions for £25 per half hour.
