Westbury Walkers visit Biddestone

The Westbury Walkers were blessed with fine weather when 16 of them set out from Biddestone on an eight mile ramble led by Philip Lock on Sunday 13th March.

The group joined the By Brook and followed it across the fields to Slaughterford and Ford. On the way they had to carry out some difficult footwork hanging on to fencing to avoid the high water level at one point.

They then walked along the top of the valley through Long Dean to Yatton Keynell where they turned south and walked across the fields back to Biddestone where they enjoyed watching the antics of the ducks and geese on the village pond.

The walk was notable for the number of footpaths that had become streams which were quite deep in places.
