WESTBURY Area Board awarded £12,080 in community grants to local groups at its final meeting of the year this month.
At the meeting on Thursday 10th December, five community groups attended to finalise their grant applications.
Money was awarded to Westbury Rugby Club for a new scrum sled; The Monday Gang from Bratton for tools and equipment; Bratton Jubilee Hall to go towards boiler replacement and roof repairs; Crosspoint to fund counselling; and Westbury & District Cricket Club for a new scoreboard.
Area board funding is available to community groups and sports clubs to put towards projects that benefit local people.
There is a limited amount of funding still available for this financial year and any new applications will be heard at the February area board.

The meeting also saw presentations updating residents and councillors on policing services, the new youth club in the town, and Wiltshire Council’s work in combatting child sexual exploitation.
The next meeting of Area Board will take place on Thursday 4th February at The Laverton, Bratton Road.
