President Pat Harper, after lighting the friendship candle, welcomed everyone to the October Meeting of Westbury Inner Wheel, giving a special welcome to four ladies from Bratton who were visiting for the first time.
Our Guest Speaker was Hilary Reed from Guide Dogs for the Blind who brought along her gorgeous dog Lenny and a labrador puppy. She gave a most interesting and informative talk on her work as a voluntary Puppy Walker and the work that goes into training the dogs. She was thanked by Jean Heath.
After the various reports were read we went on to discuss our forthcoming Fashion Show. This will be held on the Friday16th October at The Laverton at 7.30pm. Proceeds will go to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Tickets cost £7.50 to include a glass of Bucks Fizz. These can be purchased at the door or in advance by telephoning 01380 830769 or 01373 465305.
Do please come along and enjoy an evening of fashion by Roman Originals and in doing so support this very worthwhile cause.
We will also be assisting with the Rotary ICE Evening planned for Saturday 14th November and final arrangements were put in place for our Progressive Lunch to be held on Sunday 1st November. Members will be busy preparing for a very pleasant Sunday Lunch with great fun and fellowship.
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday 5th November and yes, it’s that time again, members were reminded to have their Christmas boxes ready for the International Chairman to take to the next District Meeting on Tuesday 3rd November.
