WESTBURY Black Belt Zone Fitness Academy celebrated the success of a number of students at their recent results and grading exams.
Kiziah Wells-Pearce, successfully passed her 2nd Dan Black belt grading in Korean Kickboxing on Friday 25th September.
Kiziah is the first student in the academy to hold two different Black Belt Dan Grades; she is also a 2nd Dan in Shotokan Karate.
Kiziag, along with Luke Cuthbert-Chattaway, Phil Brewer, Mason Chivers, Rebecca Rivers, William Critchley, and Owen Hobbs were all praised by their trainers.
“She is one of the most dedicated students at the academy, putting in eight hours of training per week,” said Tony Preston, Master Instructor with The Blackbelt Zone Fitness Academy. “Kiziah has trained at Westbury with us for the last eight years.
“The grading consists of a fitness test, combination techniques, semi-freestyle defences, knife defence and 24 minutes of sparring. The grading took place in Westbury at the academy’s main dojo, with family and club members watching and supporting Kiziah.
“The academy had an excellent day at the DMA Open Championships in Trowbridge on Sunday 13th September. Luke Cuthbert-Chattaway won first place in the long kick and second place in the male U/17 lightweight sparring category.
Phil Brewer got second place in the male adult heavyweight sparring category. Mason Chivers got second place in the junior U/10 sparring category. Rebecca Rivers got third place in the U/17 female sparring category. William Critchley got second place in the male U/17 heavyweight category and Owen Hobbs got second place in the male U/16 sparring category.”
