Bishop of Ramsbury visits St James’ Church Bratton

The Bishop of Ramsbury, The Right Reverend Edward Condry, visited Bratton on Sunday 7th June.

He firstly presided at a Benefice Communion Service at St James’ Church.  His sermon on love and how Christians should work in their communities was very well received and provoked much discussion afterwards.

Before and after the Service he met many members of the four churches in the Benefice  of Bratton, Edington, Coulston and Erlestoke.  He then went to Bratton’s Church Institute where he met more members of the congregation and with 45 of them he enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by St James’ catering team.

This is the first time that Bishop Edward has visited St James’ Church and the first time for many years that a Bishop of Ramsbury has visited.

It was a very enjoyable and memorable occasion and the Bishop expressed his desire to return to the Benefice before long.
