Making our community more aware of what it is like to live with dementia is just one of a range of interesting items on the agenda when Westbury area board meets this week.
The meeting at the Jubilee Hall, Bratton on Thursday 9th April, will also give people a chance to hear about how cash grants from the board have helped with a wide variety of local projects from village halls to sports clubs and Bratton’s community orchard. The board gives away more than £40,000 each year to a variety of community projects and groups.
The meeting will also be discussing and reporting on a whole range of local issues including the recent car parking review, updates from organisations like the police, and a presentation by local teenagers on their findings about what young people in our community want.
Chairman David Jenkins will also be asking people at the meeting for their ideas and subjects that could find a place on the agenda at future meetings.
David explained, “It’s important that everyone gets a chance to discuss the issues that are closest to the hearts of their community and the area board is a great forum for doing just that,”
The meeting starts at 7.00pm but from 6.30pm there will be refreshments. For more information about the meeting or the work of the area board please contact community area manager Sally Hendry at sally.hendry@wiltshire.gov.uk or on 07768 027265.
