Railway Inn Christmas dinner delivery on the big day itself

WESTBURY pub The Railway Inn will be going a step further this Christmas, and offering a home delivery service on Christmas Day as well as staying open for lunch.

The team will have a choice of roast beef or turkey, with all the trimmings, and a choice of apple pie or Christmas pudding for dessert. The meals will cost £12 per head and include delivery to your door by Father Christmas between 12pm and 4pm.

Teresa Mead runs the pub and will be cooking the lunches. She said, “Our delivered Sunday roasts are popular and we always stay open for Christmas lunch, so we thought we’d try combining the two!

“There will be a lot of people who can’t or won’t be able to cook a Christmas dinner, and we thought it would be nice to be able to help them out. It doesn’t make sense for someone who lives alone to cook a whole turkey, or for a huge family to spend all day making loads of food – not when we can  just drop it off hot and ready at the door!

“It’s the first time we’ve ever done this but we’ve had an amazing response so far. There’s nobody else doing it in the area so it’s nice to be able to offer something new. It will be a busy day but we’re very excited.”

The delivered Christmas dinners must be booked in advance, and are available to Westbury and its surrounding villages. There are also still tables available for Christmas lunch at the inn, which should also be pre-booked. To find out more, see the menu, or book your lunch, visit the Railway Inn on Station Road or call 01373 826576.
