Philomel singers at All Saints, Westbury

FEMALE voice choir The Philomel Singers will be performing at AllSaints Church in Westbury later this month.

The choir from Trowbridge will be singing alongside the Dilton Marsh School Choir on Saturday 18th October, to raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. The Philomel Singers perform a wide range of both accompanied and unaccompanied music, and give regular performances. Over the past 25 years they have raised nearly £30,000 for various charities.

Supporting act Dilton Marsh School Choir are a group of singers from the village’s primary school. Earlier this year they took part in the inaugural Young Choir of Wiltshire competition, and were deemed “inspirational” by the judges.

Philomel Singers secretary Fiona Wood said, “We are delighted to be performing once again in All Saints Church in Westbury and for a second time to raise funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance service.

For this concert we are being joined by the Dilton Marsh school choir. It is wonderful to be singing with a young choir who are so enthusiastic about their music; we are all looking forward to their singing and are sure it will be a lovely evening with a great programme of music. To be singing for such a worthwhile charity is the icing on the cake.”

The concert will be free but welcoming donations to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance charity. It starts at 7.30pm on Saturday 18th October. Call the church on  01373 859450 for more information.
