Abbie and Jean-Luc.
Westbury mum Abbie Wheeler and her eldest son Jean-Luc had their heads shaved on Saturday to raise money for Epilepsy Action, after her youngest son, Sam, was diagnosed with the condition earlier this year.
Snip-Snip-Snip and within 20 minutes the long tresses and golden locks ended up on the floor. The event, held at the Railway Inn pub in Westbury, should hopefully raise around £1,000 for the charity.
Six-year-old Sam had his first seizure last October while the family were in the USA and, after having other attacks, he was diagnosed with epilepsy in January.
Abbie said that the Epilepsy Action group has been a life saver for her and the rest of the family which is why she and Jean-Luc decided to take the brave step and have their heads shaved.
“We wanted to do it to raise money for Epilepsy Action to help other families who are in a similar situation to us,” she said. “The charity has been fabulous for us and it’s our way of saying thank you.”
