Debbie Cole celebrates the first year anniversary
LEIGH Park Community Centre is marking its first anniversary, with free activities in January and February part of the celebrations.
The long-awaited centre opened in January 2013, offering Leigh Park and the surrounding areas a new community venue.
The centre boasts a café, bar, meeting room and a large hall with capacity for 200 people that can be divided into three smaller halls.
Debbie Cole, centre manager said, “It’s great to see hundreds of people walk through the doors every week. We currently have 23 regular users providing 45 varied sessions throughout the week – there is definitely something for everyone of every age.
“We are extremely pleased with the response to the community centre opening and feel as though we can be at the hub of the community bringing people together.”
Regular users of the hall include health and fitness classes (such as zumba, street dance, tai chi and yoga), Slimming World, the i2i business networking group, ‘Golden Oldies,’ parent and toddler groups, the Westbury Area Young Archaeologist Club, and the Westbury Leigh and Stormore Baptist Church – among many others.
The halls are available for hire, and the centre has kitchen and bar facilities.
The centre has a cafe which is open Monday – Friday, 9.00am-2.00pm, and offers free WiFi.
