CHRIS Gillam reports, on behalf of Westbury RFC.
“Numbers have been good at training in pre-season, and we are all ready for the new season. Lots of new faces have arrived over the summer and all seem to be settling in well, which is great news. We are delighted that Micheal Bamsey has agreed to stay on as head coach. He is excited about the future and looking forward to taking us to the next level.”
Luke Hames, player and press officer, Westbury RFC said, “We are all very excited about the future of the club; lots of new faces have arrived over the summer and the chairman and committee are working hard behind the scenes.” The club house is looking good and we are just in the process of getting new floodlights for training, the future looks bright! We are a real family club and its great to see the juniors coming through and the ladies team doing so well; new players always welcome. I would also just like to give a little mention to Gareth ‘foggy’ Vaughan who has been a stalwart of the club for many years. He unfortunately suffered a bad injury to his leg in a cup game last week; we all wish him a speedy recovery. The great news is he will continue to captain the 2nd team, albeit from the sidelines.”
