FOLLOWING a successful year leading Matravers School, Beverley Martin is moving on to pastures new in September, as she takes up the position of executive headteacher at Isca College of Media Arts in Exeter.
Beverley took up the helm of Matravers School on invitation of the governing body a year ago, following a short time supporting the school as a National Leader of Education (NLE). During the year she has put the school firmly on an upward trajectory of improvement.
Before her year at Matravers, Beverley had several significant roles in Wiltshire. These included her role as executive headteacher of The Manor School in Melksham, where she led a successful merger between two underachieving primary schools forming one outstanding establishment. She was also headteacher of two other primary schools in Wiltshire and contributed to others in her role as an advisory teacher and senior school improvement advisor.
The school has expressed much gratitude to Beverley and wishes her success and happiness in her new venture in Devon. From September, Dr Simon Riding will be taking up the headship at Matravers School.
