Upcycled bags made by local businesswoman are big hit at Glastonbury Festival

Story posted on

BAGS, purses and aprons made by a local businesswoman from materials which would otherwise be destined for landfill, have been a big hit with festival-goers at Glastonbury.

Lisa Crick.

Lisa Crick started her business, New Baginnings, in the first Covid lockdown after her previous work as a fitness instructor dried up because of the pandemic. Lisa, from Dilton Marsh, said, “When I first started I was worried I was going to run out of material; I’m three years in now and people drop materials off because they know what I do. All of the materials I use are waste materials or clothing that has served its purpose, the designs are my own and I keep them simple as the material tells the story.”

Lisa usually sells her products online or at local events and this year was her first year trading at Glastonbury Festival. Lisa said, “Being at Glastonbury has been a fantastic opportunity for the business. It went really well. I have met loads of new customers and I’ve had people offer to send me materials which they have saved over the years so I can make use of them.

“It has been a great experience; our neighbours on site became our family for the week and we traders became a little community. There were two of us working 12 hours each day, so it was long days, but we did get to enjoy the festival in the evenings too and we managed to get a lot packed in.”

    Yup, you guessed it.
Interestingly enough, this saying was initially intended as a compliment.
’Ah, all things come to those who wait,’
But there’s no certain magic to sprinkling aphorisms into your writing.
That’s why aphorisms, adages, and proverbs are synonyms for each other.
The early bird gets the worm.
It originally read, Count not they chickens that unhatched be…
    Examples of Aphorism in Politics
He once stated, It is better to be alone than in bad company.
Oftentimes, it makes sense to delegate tasks.

There must be a method to your madness.
But one key difference is that for a phrase to be truly aphoristic, it needs to be a short statement.
Do you believe that a penny saved is a penny earned.
Speaking of being safe, that’s another aphorism example that you’ve probably heard before.
Luke’s having a tough time, and he’s discouraged.
