Local estate agent supports pre-school development projects

CYGNETS pre-school have recently unveiled the latest additions to the outdoor provision at both its Westbury and Bratton sites, thanks to a generous donation from new local estate agent Daykin Estates.

Emma Osmond, manager of Cygnets, says, “These latest additions will make a huge difference to both settings and we are enormously grateful to Jordan and the team at Daykin Estates for their support.

“In Bratton there is still so much we would like to do, having only been up and running for just over a year, and the addition of an outdoor shelter is a huge item off our wish-list. In Westbury the weatherproof lending library is something that we have been hoping to add for some time, and we hope that our families will get plenty of good use out of it.”

Jordan Daykin, director of Daykin Estates added: “Daykin Estates are proud to be able to sponsor Cygnets at both Westbury and Bratton, it’s great to see a pre-school that offers such a relaxed environment for children being able to play indoors/outdoors all year round. We look forward to continue working with them closely in the future.”

Cygnets in Bratton opened in June 2020 following an extensive refurbishment of the Bratton Pavillion. The latest addition is a smart timber-framed outdoor shelter, which creates a wonderfully flexible space for children to play all year round.

The new shelter means that children can enjoy the tool bench and wood working activities in a space that was previously home to just a few tired and old playground toys. The shelter was funded by Daykin Estates and constructed over a weekend in October, when a team of volunteers from the local community came together for the construction project.

In Westbury, Cygnets have unveiled a new ‘lending library’ in a house-shaped timber structure, also purchased courtesy of a donation from Daykin Estates. The new ‘library’ is open to all Cygnets families to borrow books and other materials to support early years development, and forms an essential part of Cygnets’ ethos around story sharing, which also includes regular online bedtime story events which are hugely popular with the children.
