Poppy Appeal needs your help

Story posted on

VOLUNTEERS are needed for this year’s Poppy Appeal collection as the Westbury branch of the Royal British Legion hope to raise even more money than last year.

Poppies will be available from shops, pubs, and clubs in the town from late October and collectors will be in Lidl, Aldi and Morrisons from Monday 1st-9th November.

One of the organisers, Norman Fenton told White Horse News, “We’re looking to bounce back a bit, given the current situation in the world. We are still in need of volunteers to help with the Poppy Appeal, as our numbers are dwindling.”

RBL are there to support the armed forced community and help ease the burden of financial pressure for thousands of serving and ex-serving personnel every year. They provide specialist support and advice including care and independent living, physical and mental wellbeing advice and financial and employment support.

To volunteer for this year’s Westbury Poppy Appeal, please call Norman on 07415 833 002.
