Council agrees ‘No HGVs’ signs donation

Story posted on

WESTBURY Town Council will contribute 30% towards the £165 cost of signs warning that Alfred Street is unsuitable for use by HGVs.

The council’s highways, planning and development committee unanimously approved the proposal at its latest meeting.

The signs will be installed on existing lampposts at both ends of Alfred Street.

Who will pay the remaining monies and when will the sign be erected. If the sign is advisory, not enforceable, then has it any real purpose apart.
The lorries from the horrendous construction site behind Alfred Street are still turning on the mini roundabout and mounting the kerb each and every time.
Alfred Street should be one way with traffic calming measures installed to prevent it becoming more of a rat run than it already is.
