Summer Fete to Relaunch Westbury Leigh Community Hall

Story posted on

WESTBURY Leigh Community Hall will be holding a village summer fete on Saturday 24th July.

The organisers report, “The Covid-19 pandemic has brought a tough time to everyone, and for the beautiful Westbury Leigh Community Hall and its patrons it has been no different.

“Unlike many others, the management committee opted to keep the hall open, when permitted, for the majority of these recent strange days, seeing it as a duty to the community to continue hosting mental health support groups, socially distanced religious services and permitted physical exercise classes.

“Dedicated volunteers, many new to the hall, have kept it scrupulously clean and the grounds tidy during this time. Due to its status as a charity occupying unrated premises with no employees, the hall organisation did not qualify for any of the available grants but has none the less survived.

“To celebrate this and the further relaxation of social distancing measures the hall is hosting a Summer Fete on the afternoon of 24th July with all the traditional attractions you might expect: stalls, BBQ snacks, competitions, live music, children’s fancy dress and games.”
