More homes for Westbury? Application submitted for 26 houses

APLANNINGapplication has been submitted for 26 homes on land west of Dartmoor Road.

The proposed new development by Persimmon Homes, would be situated on greenfield land to the rear of Westbury Leigh Primary School’s playing field. The current site is described as land not currently under “any formal use” and comprising predominantly of dense scrub, tree and hedgerow cover. 

The application also proposes new vehicular access, public open space, landscaping, sustainable urban drainage and other associated infrastructure works.

The public consultation closes on Friday 2nd October. A decision by Wiltshire Council is expected by Tuesday 6th October. To view the plans and comment, visit twww.         wiltshire.gov.uk/planning-applications-search and search with the reference 20/06808/FUL.

    Westbury really does not need any more housing build on green fields. The town cannot support any more housing as there is no suitable road network. The A350 is already one of the most polluting roads in Wiltshire. I really don’t think Wiltshire Council cares about Westbury, its residents or the destruction of the countryside.
