Story posted on

COLLECTION for this year’s Operation Christmas Child will begin on Monday 11th November.

The collection is run by relief charity Samaritan’s Purse, and sends thousands of shoeboxes full of presents to impoverished children around the world.

Drop off points in Westbury are Haine and Smith opticians in the High Street and a warehouse on the trading estate located at Bay 1, Link Road, BA13 4JB. Donations can be made until Monday 18th November.

Organiser of the collection, Steve Lloyd said, “The warehouse will open from 10am-4.30pm each day for anyone wanting to drop off boxes or help to pack.”

Last year over 15,000 shoeboxes were shipped from Westbury to countries such as Iberia, Romania and Belarus.

For details about what is allowed in each shoebox, visit www.samaritans-purse. org.uk/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child.
