Road delays on A350 for drainage works

Story posted on

PLANNED works to replace the highway drainage system on Warminster Road will begin on Monday 12th August causing delays in the town.

Between Orchard Road and A3098 Leigh Road/ Hospital Road, the drainage system has been identified as being in poor condition.

From Monday 12th August until the planned finish date of Friday 30th August the works will be carried out under temporary multi-way traffic lights with pedestrian switch offs where necessary.

The hours of work are 8am-8pm Monday to Friday with the possibility of Saturday working, but this has not yet been fully discussed/agreed and may depend on progress. No works will be undertaken over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Ringway, who are carrying out the works said, “Due to the nature of the works there will be some disruption. We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. If you wish to contact Wiltshire Council regarding the works please do so on Tel: 0300 456 0105.”

the ringway workmen are an absolute joke and do more talking and tea breaks than they do working. we had this lot doing work a couple of weeks ago in the evenings and they showed no consideration to residents at all – using heavy machinery well after 11pm (the time they were supposed to stop). when i complained to the council, they didn`t even bother responding. today (13 Aug) they have more or less blocked off the access to the esso garage and have completely blocked off a residents driveway (i believe the hearses from Arthur Mays are kept there) – so they are once again showing no consideration for residents.
