ALL Saints Church hosted its Tractorfest and summer fayre last month, raising over £1,000 for the up-keep of the 14th Century Grade 1 listed building.

The event featured tractors of various ages on display around the churchyard along with a selection of  West Country activities such as skittles and welly wanging.

One of the organisers, Diane Perrett said, “We had a great day and the weather was fantastic. We had six tractors on the day. There were lots of visitors both young and old and it was great to see them taking so much interest in the machines and chatting to the owners.  We were able to raise just over £1,000 from the stalls, as well as raising enough money to twin the church toilet with one in Uganda under the Toilet Twinning Scheme.

“We are very grateful to Tesco Express, Boomerang Soft Play Centre, East Somerset Railway, Wendy’s Hairdressers, Morrison’s, Westbury Swimming Pool, Horse and Groom and We the Curious for their help with prizes.  Our special thanks go to the tractor owners who brought their beautiful machines and we hope to have a bigger display next year.”
