THE White Horse continues to be a special place for a Westbury couple after they celebrated their engagement and now wedding on the historic landmark.

In April 2017, White Horse News covered the unusual engagement of Kelly Bishop and Matt Pritchard on top of the Bratton Camp hills, where Matt lit a candlelight trail to ask Kelly a very special question.

Unbeknown to Kelly, who thought she was going to the cinema in Trowbridge, Matt took her up on the hill, a place where they walk their dog together and also the place they went for a walk to induce the labour of their daughter, Connie, and he popped the question, celebrating her answer with a bottle of champagne!

A year later they tied the knot at Trowbridge registry office with parents and two friends. However, they decided they wanted to celebrate with everyone and took to the hills once again in a unique ceremony.

Kelly said, “We decided we wanted to celebrate our marriage with our loved ones in a special way, so we did the ceremony in a place special to us. It’s the place where we walked our dog when he was a puppy, where we walked when I was in labour and needed to move around, where we walked our daughter Connie in her pram, and where Matt proposed to me.

“Thankfully the weather held out and we enjoyed a beautiful ceremony, conducted by our close friend, Mark Lambert. Our daughter Connie was one of our beautiful flower girls and our labrador, Roger, was ring bearer and looked very handsome in his blue dicky bow.

“We had our reception at the Horse and Groom on Alfred Street. The setting was great and the food was amazing. We had the perfect day, where we wanted to have fun and make memories with family and friends.”
