A hat by sixties icon Mary Quant is among a range of designer and vintage items that will be helping raise cash for a historic Westbury garden.

The hat, modelled by White Horse News reporter Lauren, was donated by one of the Friends of Victoria Garden, the voluntary group that looks after the sunken garden in All Saints churchyard.

Bargains from books and clothes to bric-a-brac, cakes, plants and much more will all be on offer at the special barrow sale and fete on Saturday 16th June. Matravers choir will be helping provide music for the event and there will be a range of sideshows, as well as a chance to relax, with tea and home-made cake in the beautiful surroundings.

The event, which is organised by the FVG, runs from 2pm to 4pm.  Funds raised will help buy plants and equipment for the garden, which was first given to the public by mill-owner William Laverton in 1897.
