FAIRFIELD Farm College in Dilton Marsh hosted a visit by Westbury Infant School last week and showed them around the farm.

The college said, “They saw the chickens out by the pond, the alpacas called Chocolate and Fudge and the cows in the next field.

“They also saw the 12 piglets and their mum.  Everyone liked the piglets best! It was a very cold, bright day, but we had a great time leading the tours.

“When they went back to school we had a break in the café and a hot drink to warm up. Kye said, “I liked showing the little children around.” Nick said, “I took two different groups around the farm.” Hannah said, “I showed the children around the animals and by the time we had finished, they knew my name.”

“The college learners told the infants about the animals and advised them about health and safety such as ‘Watch out – do not touch the animals and the fence!’”

The children’s guides, Nick,  Hannah and Kye (pictured right) said,  “Here we are having a warm drink in the café. Cheers!”
