Westbury Infants School year 1 children were invited to a star gazing evening recently to start their space topic.

Elizabeth Channon said, “We were fortunate to have a dry and clear evening and all enjoyed the event. We would like to give special thanks to one of our parents, Mr Down, and one of our grandparents, Mr May, for bringing their telescopes to enable the children to have a closer look at the stars and moon.

“Mrs Meehan organised the event and said all the children and parents thoroughly enjoyed the experience, it was a fantastic way to start our topic and bring the learning to life. Year 1 are off to the planetarium in Bristol next, to continue learning about space.”
