CINNAMON Lounge in Westbury has been a part of huge fundraising activities recently, including providing a curry lunch for 78 attendees of Bratton’s Remembrance service.

On Sunday 12th November, after the parade service, 78 people flocked to the Jubilee Hall to be greeted with a curry lunch, with three different curry options and an alternative meal, provided and served by staff at  Cinnamon Lounge.

After the success of the event the Royal British Legion personally wrote to the manager of Cinnamon Lounge and organiser of the lunch, Shah Sufian (better known as Sufi) and said, “Thank you for your generous and enthusiastic contribution to our Remembrance Sunday events. A curry lunch is a traditional event at many military units and we can therefore be a critical group to please. I am pleased to be able to say that all felt that you provided a lunch that exceeded our expectations, both in terms of quality and quantity.”

Sufi and the team’s work did not stop there. On Tuesday 14th November they hosted a curry and quiz night to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West in the name of Carlene Clarke, who is running the London Marathon next April.

Cinnamon Lounge catered for 60 people by putting together a set menu of poppadoms with chutneys, mixed starters, followed by a main of mixed curries with rice, naan bread and various sides. The cost of the evening was £15 per person and this included food and entry to the quiz, contributing to raising more than £500.

Carlene Clarke said, “I’d really like to thank Sufi and his team at The Cinnamon Lounge for helping us host such a great night. We had so many compliments about the food.”

Sufi, manager of the Cinnamon Lounge said, “It is so good to see so many people enjoying themselves whilst making money for good causes. We are always happy to put on events like these, as it is great to help and support local charities. If anyone is interested in holding an event at our restaurant, then please contact me.”
