WESTBURYTown Council has recently welcomed two new additions to the team.

Locals Kieran Thorburn and Sarah Harris have been recruited as administration assistants for the busy town council.

New recruit Kieran said, “It is a pleasure to be able to be working with the town council in Westbury, where I have lived for over 15 years. I have a real interest in local government and studied public services at Wiltshire College.

“I am looking forward to starting my journey here and learning as much as possible. I am also due to start my special constable training in January, which will be a great opportunity for me.”

Fellow new recruit Sarah said, “I’ve grown up in Westbury, attending Westbury Leigh Primary School and Matravers. Having travelled out of Westbury for the last 17 years to my previous job with the National Trust, it’s really nice to be working in my home town.

“I have really enjoyed my first couple of months with Westbury Town Council, there is lots to learn and everyone has been so helpful. My main areas of work at the moment are the highways, planning and development committee meetings, finance and the website.”
