WESTBURY manager Joe Kirkpatrick was delighted to welcome new signing Jake Hiscocks into the starting line-up after his transfer from Melksham late in the week.

Westbury took the lead through Josh Ferguson after only three minutes. It came from a throw high on the left-hand side. New father Liam Milburn took the throw, which was flicked on by Ricky Hulbert into the path of Ferguson who was arriving in the box from his right-wing position, to calmly side foot his finish into the net.

After the break, the good play by Westbury continued and on the 55th minute they added a second through Mark Robinson.

Roman Glass replied quickly; only three minutes later they won a throw on the right hand side and took it quickly. This was followed by a cross to the back post, Dan Jordan was there but the attacker got the running jump on him and powered a header home to make it 2-1.

Westbury weren’t finished though and on the 63rd minute Milburn picked up the ball and played it out to Robinson who played it out to the right where Ricky Hulbert was waiting. Ricky delivered a cross for Milburn, who was charging towards the middle of the goal, to finish and score Westbury’s 3rd.

Westbury spent the next 15 minutes under pressure, but the back four were defending very well. Unfortunately on the 79th minute, Dan Price missed a clearance which the Roman Glass attacker took full advantage of to get a strike off and score.

The game finished with a flurry of yellow cards, as Westbury were determined to hold on to the lead and take the three points.

Star Man: Matt Jones.
