THE Dilton Marsh Village Fete is fast approaching, and organisers are hoping the whole village will come along to support this popular summer event.

The village fete will take place on Sunday 17th September from 12-4pm and it’s going to be a fun- filled afternoon with a whole host of entertainment planned.

Kathy Hutt, chair of Dilton Marsh Village Fete committee said, “We have so much planned for the day and we have some very special attractions.

“First we have The Association of Crown Forces; this is a re-enactment group that depicts British Units that were active in the American War of Independence. They will set up camp on the playing field and perform uniformed infantry and artillery drill displays  They will be using muskets and hopefully bring their cannon for display. They will be encouraging people to  “enlist” for the afternoon. The displays and authentic camp give a picture of the soldiers’ lives at the time.

“Then we have Active Trowbridge coming along who will bring inflatables and games and Leighton Leisure will be promoting good health and fitness with games and activities.

“We will have balloon modelling, face painting, stalls, a barbecue, refreshments, and a licensed bar with mellow tunes from Saxology.

“We hope lots of people will come along to the fete and hopefully the weather will be great.

“If anyone would like to have a stall or offer an activity, or can help on the day, please contact me on 07708 351323 or 01373 301656.”
