Westbury Rugby Club devastated after player tragically dies

WESTBURY Rugby Club have spoken of their devastation after one of their players, Anthony Holton, died last month.

Tributes have been pouring in for 24 year-old Anthony Holton from Warminster who fell from the top of a building in Warminster in the early hours of Sunday 16th July.

Luke Hames from Westbury Rugby Club said, “We are all devastated by the news. Anthony was a lovely lad, a brilliant father and a talented rugby player. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Everyone at the club sends their deepest sympathies to Anthony’s family at this very difficult time.”

Wiltshire Police have confirmed that Anthony died during an incident which happened at around 3.20am on Sunday 16th July, when police officers were called to help someone in distress on a rooftop in the high street. Sadly, he fell to the ground and died at the scene.
