‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report for Bratton Preschool

Bratton Preschool is celebrating, after being awarded an ‘Outstanding’ rating in all areas, following a recent Ofsted inspection.

The semi-rural preschool is run by a parent committee and joint playleaders, Wendy Waller and Paulene Bryant, paid tribute to committee and staff past and present stating that “this award is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone who has helped to make the group what we are today.”

The inspector identified that staff know the children ‘remarkably well’ and particularly praised the staff’s “sharp focus on encouraging communication skills” and their “high behavioural expectations”. It was also noted that children were taught to “assess risk and achieve manageable challenges,” thus becoming “exceptionally independent”.  The inspector concluded that “all children make outstanding progress given what they know when they start.”

The group is not resting on its laurels though and the playleaders are planning to further enhance the environment both inside and out to support independent learning and  resilience.

There are limited spaces still available for September and interested families are invited to contact the pre-school on 07949 286991.
