Inflatable Fun Day and Artisan Market

This entry was posted on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 at 4:50 pm.

Emu oil, baby powder candles, pet blankets and more will be on sale at the next Artisan Market and Inflatable Fun Dayz in Grassacres Park on Saturday 15th July from 11am-4pm.

The fun dayz have been running since March and have proved to be a hit with children and parents alike. Entry is just £5 per child, and there are up to 7 inflatables including a slide, assault course and a dome for children to play around on; all in a safe environment. All children are given a dated wristband which allows them to come and go as much as they like on that day.

As usual, a closed session will be held on Saturday for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).  The fun day will then return on Sunday 16th again from 11am – 4pm

The artisan market also returns for its second visit of the summer, and welcomed back will be Colin Kennedy, aka ‘The Vintage Salvager’. Colin takes discarded and unloved materials, mainly wood and upcycles them into useful items like mirrors, tables, chalkboards and tea light holders.

Also returning is Alf Hayward of Sinceris who makes soaps, moisturisers and candles from natural products such as cocoa butter, lanolin and even emu oil.  If you’re looking for a unique piece of jewellery for someone special, then Carol Allen’s bespoke bangles might be just what you’re looking for.  Springbok Crafts are a first-time visitor to the market and will be selling handmade gifts and cards, as well as embroidery which can be customized with your group, club or business logo.

There are refreshments and toilets at the event and up to two hours’ free parking available in the High Street car park.

Town council events coordinator, Verity Bartlett said, “The ‘inflatable fun dayz’ have created a real family atmosphere over the past few months, and we’d love to see as many children as possible come down to the park for some bouncy fun. At the same time, mums and dads can have a browse around the market with the chance to pick up something very different as a gift or present.”
