Mums, dads, grandparents and expectant mothers attended a free Save a Baby’s Life workshop at Leighton Recreation Centre last month.

Trained instructors taught basic life saving techniques and provided advice on what to do when a baby stops breathing and how best to deal with a choking or drowning situation. Using a life-like baby manikin, they were taught how to perform basic CPR and first aid as they would in a real life situation.

Anne Egerton from Leighton Recreation Centre said, “Hopefully all of the attendees now feel a little more confident about what to do in if the worst should happen and they need to deal with a family member choking or has stopped breathing.”

Following the success of the session the team at Leighton Recreation Centre and Westbury Swimming Pool run by Places for People Leisure, will consider if they can put on further sessions to support the local community.
