SCHOOLCHILDREN in Westbury celebrated World Book Day this month by dressing up and reading some of their favourite stories.
At Westbury Infant School, pupils dressed as their favourite characters.
Liz Channon said, “Even the school cook came as Mary Berry’s cook book! The children loved seeing the effort made by all the grown ups and then enjoyed taking part in various book day-themed activities. It was a lovely day which has promoted the importance of reading.”
At Bitham Brook School, pupils concentrated on books and authors instead of characters.
Deputy headteacher, Mrs Brisland said, “The children visited different classes to share books and read to each other. We always value parental support with reading activities at home to support their children’s love of reading.”
