Music, walking and a new book club at Westbury W.I.

Westbury WI’s January meeting was a jolly affair.

We were entertained by Graham Harding, who vastly amused us with tales of George Formby, punctuated with renditions of his songs performed on the ukulele and the banjo ukulele.

Our increasing membership means we are able to set up some new activities groups. A book club will be meeting monthly starting in March, and as from May a new walking group will be taking to the footpaths of the area.

The plan is to undertake walks of around four miles or so, fetching up in time for lunch at a local pub, and after lunch to continue our circular walk back to our starting point.

Our main March meeting will be the AGM in our new meeting place – the United Reform Church Hall. We shall continue to meet on the third Thursday of every month (except August) at 7.00pm. New members are assured of a very warm welcome. Just roll up on the night!  Alternatively, our secretary, can be contacted by phone: 01373 823685.
