Expansion at Imperial Charity

IMPERIAL Charity, which has been running for 25 years, has gone from strength to strength, recently expanding one of its two shops in Warminster Road, Westbury into the shop next door.

President David McCance said, “Imperial Charity was founded in 1990 and we opened our first shop in September 2007 selling good quality secondhand furniture and electrical goods.

“All our net profits from the shops are used within the community,  especially for senior citizens and those with special needs, for things like fun days to seaside resorts, shopping expeditions, variety shows and generally lending a helping hand. Coach trips will start again this month and we also arrange entertainment at nursing homes.

“While we are a small charity, we do have a lovely band of dedicated volunteers and without their help we couldn’t do nearly as much as we do now. People in Westbury have been very kind and donated some marvelous stuff, some of which is brand new or nearly new.

“We are currently looking for volunteers. We are  interested in people who wish to dedicate a little bit of their time, be it ‘shop sitting’ so that our second shop is manned fully or helping with the collection and delivery of the many items that flow through our doors each week. We are also seeking good quality furniture and electrical goods to sell in our shop.”

If you are interested in volunteering or donating goods then please call 01373 826826 or pop into the shop at 27 Warminster Road, Westbury.
